We stay here (Room 415) for a long weekend for our Anniversary in July 2017 and found it was a perfect home base in the heart of Amsterdam – allowing to reach any Hotspot in the City by feet. The Hotel is located directly at the pedestrian zone and in front of it you can find a Taxi spot, train stations, bus stations and the entrance of a big parking garage.
In the close surrounding you will face a lot of restaurants and cafes as well as other hotels and a Police base.
From here you can easily walk to the pedestrian zone /shopping area, central station and Harbour, Hop on Hop off station, all visiting spots, the main canals and canals, Red light district ( De Wallen ), Chinatown, Leidseplein and surrounding, coffee shops, a lot of restaurants, cafes and bars and, and, and ….
We recommend to walk to Harbour/Central station and then go by a hop on hop off boat which will drive through the canals and stops at different visiting spots and locations.
Our room (executive Room) was very comfortable with an excellent bed (MGallerybed), sofa / coffee table, Nespresso Coffee Maker, safe , fridge, Rain shower, hair dryer, TV and a nice welcome set for our Anniversary. Design of the room is a bit special and one wall of the room is a map of the surrounding with interesting infos where you can explore what’s to do and see next. In our opinion the rooms have only one little minus which is a surprising noisy fridge. But the fridge is designed with a big on/off switch and you can switch the fridge off at night and on again over daytime – and anything else was top to excellent and we would stay here again.
The Hotel has nice restaurants and a spa and we faced a very good and friendly service.
We tried the breakfast one day and it was very nice. On the other days we tried different cafes at the canals and we can say that Amsterdam has a lot of good gastronomic spots.
