  1. Can't have enough of this music that the soul thirsts for, thanks to Michael Ibrahim and to all the musicians for bringing the best of the East and the West together.

  2. I am speechless, the singer and the orchestra blend perfectly to present an amazing concert. Nai's voice is as beautiful as the tunes of a nai "the instrument". As a Palestinian, I am full of pride that we can come up with a vocalist like Nai Barghouthi. The orchestra is world class, all of them.

  3. The range of her voice makes her one of the unique singers in the world. This is the first time I've come across her. She joins the likes of Julia Boutros and Jennifer Grout as world class. May Allah open all the doors of our world to her so that she may introduce the civilization of Palestinian people

  4. I've been listening to this concert in bits and pieces and in its entirety, almost on repeat for the past few weeks.

When I was training as a classical vocalist as a kid, my teacher always used to say, "There are two types of good singers – one who is technically precise – meaning they strike the right notes and keep the rhythm, but that'd be about it. Then there's the other, who is technically sound – but also brings the soul into the music." I stumbled upon this concert while looking for one of my favourite Egyptian classical pieces, "Alf Leila Wei Leila" performed by Amal Maher. After listening to Amal, Mai Farouk, and now Nai Bhargouti, and a fair few others, I can safely conclude, this young lady – young enough to be called a girl, truly sings from her soul. Almost every single time I listen to this concert I have a dazed look, struck by the wonder of her voice, skill, and soul.
